India Will Ban Single-Use Plastics Next Year to Cut Pollution

India has gone ahead and made a decision. They say that the government is going to ban the use of single-use plastics from next year in order to prevent pollution caused by it.

This seems like a good move but however, some experts are also saying that it won’t be enough to control or solve the pollution problem in India. It seems like a small step for a bigger destination.

India’s central government had taken the step and they have reached a decision that must have been fairly easy to arrive at given the situation of the pollution level and problems in India that they had been facing for quite some years.

India Will Ban Single-Use Plastics Next Year to Cut Pollution

They have announced out of the ban in August this year, this is coming after its 2019 resolution where it had sworn to address the plastic pollution in the country. The ban on most single-use plastics that had been passed will be taking effect from July 1, 2022.

But the problem is enforcement. The law had been passed and the ban will be there on paper but how is the government going to enforce it. Just like it is said that enforcement is the key to a ban.

As India had not provided any explanation for this some of the experts are saying that this won’t be enough to control or solve the pollution problem in India.

However, they are demanding that India should give out its plans and policies that they are going to undertake in order for the ban to come true.

The structural issues, the waste management, the segregation, and the awareness program should also be taken into account and looked into carefully if one needs and plans to make this ban successful.

This is a good initiative taken on the part of the Indian government but it would be better if they could actually enforce this ban.

It will honestly be a lot of help to the environment and its resources. We hope that they soon figure out the policy and make good use of it. Thank you for giving this a read.
